Overview: not every lucky-looking object helps. A feng shui cure works when it fits the location, the element balance, and you – otherwise it is decoration.
The Three-Question Test
1. Does it belong here? A water fountain feeds the wealth corner but floods a bedroom. Location first, object second.
2. Does it balance the elements? Check what the area already has too much of. A metal wind chime in a metal-heavy room adds noise, not harmony.
3. Do you actually like it? A cure you resent is a daily irritation – it works against itself. Classical practice has no place for objects kept out of obligation.
Objects That Earn Their Place
- Plants – wood energy, alive and growing (only if you keep them alive)
- Crystals and stones – earth stability for scattered rooms
- Mirrors – used precisely, never as default decor
- Candles and warm light – instant yang for dark corners
Objects That Rarely Work
Anything dusty, broken, inherited-but-disliked, or bought in a panic. If it fails two of the three questions, release it.
